"I am convinced that if we as a society work diligently in every other area of life and neglect the family, it would be analogous to straightening deck chairs on the Titanic." Stephen Covey
One marriage researcher noted that 80% of divorced men and women said their marriage failed not because of an affair, but it was because they gradually grew apart or because they did not feel loved or appreciated. Someone who recently completed this study said "Intimate Encounters gave me in a few months what others spend years and thousands of dollars to get."
Intimate Encounters is an 10 week course for couples that offers practical help to make good marriages better, and offer hope and healing to troubled marriages. Designed for couples to experience together, this course will help you gain a better understanding of your spouses deepest feelings and needs, resulting in new closeness. Groups meet at the leader's homes.
This study will help you: 1. Learn the top three "Intimacy Needs" of you and your spouse 2. Drain the emotional pain that is filling your "Emotional Cup" 3. Heal the marital hurts from your past 4. Discover the "4 Ingredients of Marital Closeness" 5. Place your expectations on God instead of your spouse 6. Change your "stuffing" or "shouting" style of conflict 7. Respond to emotion without giving advice 8. Learn how to stop playing "marital games" 9. Identify and heal your childhood emotional wounds 10. Stop minimizing, magnifying, personalizing and other irrational responses
Registration is $25 per couple and all groups meet at the leader's home. Space is limited. You can get more information by contacting Mark Riley at mriley1@bellsouth.net.
