Elementary (UpStreet)

Welcome to the Elementary School Ministry

Our purpose on UpStreet is to guide kids to discover Christ’s love personally so that they will understand what it means to trust Him and have a personal relationship with Him.

We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last. That’s why it’s important that your child connects with the same friends, same leaders, at the same hour…every Sunday!

Sunday Morning at a Glance
UpStreet takes place during the 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. services. Doors open 20 minutes before each service time. Here’s what a typical Sunday looks like on UpStreet.

  1. Plug In (10 minutes) – UpStreet kids and parents are greeted and checked in at their individual rooms by their classroom Coach. Kids then hang out with their peers and Small Group Leader, participating in a fun “Plug In” activity that introduces and leads into the morning’s message and Bottom Line.
  2. Large Group “Power Up” (30 minutes) – UpStreet kids and leaders travel to the UpStreet Garage where they participate in a meaningful “Power Up” time of praise and worship, interact with that month’s large group Host, and hear a presentation of the Bible message by that morning’s Storyteller.
  3. Small Group “Catch On” (25 minutes) – During this time, the Small Group Leader builds a relationship with the kids through discussion, activities, and prayer. Each activity is centered around the Bottom Line for that particular week and is designed to help kids “Catch On” to the message so they can apply what they learn to their every day lives.

UpStreet Curriculum
We use 252Basics curriculum for K-5th graders.  Each week we discuss three basic truths based on the life of Jesus from Luke 2:52:  “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”  These three basic truths are:

  • WISDOM: “I need to make the wise choice.”
  • FAITH: “I can trust God no matter what.”
  • FRIENDSHIP: “I should treat others the way I want to be treated.”

These are amplified through 150 Bible stories, 36 monthly virtues (Kindness, Responsibility, Generosity, Faith, etc.) referred to as that month’s “Virtue Word,” and a weekly Bottom Line, all designed to help kids learn how to apply God’s Word to their every day lives.
