Community Groups

Success at Southside is defined by how effectively our ministries move people from our large environments into small groups.

At Southside, the small group is the best place for sustained life change to occur. In a small group, people study God’s Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s also where they pray, care for one another, and are missed if they don’t show up.

Practically speaking, there will never be a way for the staff or elders to personally minister to everyone who attends our church. That’s why we place such a high premium on group life. It’s how we minister effectively at Southside.

Groups

Community Groups are made up of five to six couples or five to eight individuals and are the place where people are personally encouraged and challenged in their relationship with God and each other. We believe that Community Groups are the place where sustained life change occurs. Community Groups are where real life and real issues are discussed. This is the environment where we celebrate the successes and good times of life, as well as comfort one another during the tough and disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

GroupLink is an event where you will connect with others and form a Community Group. Community Groups are small groups of six married couples or eight individual of the same gender that meet weekly in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study, prayer.

Access Groups are short-term community groups that meet at Southside on Sunday mornings to discuss one topic per 4 – 10 week session.  These groups can be either a  Starting Point (10 weeks) group which is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community or a group on developing a relationship with Christ (4-6 weeks).
